Policies and Procedures
Thank you for considering the UC San Diego Black Resource Center to hold your upcoming event.
All reservations require at least two weeks notice from the date of your event. After-hours and entire center reservations require three weeks notice from the date of your event. Please do not request to reserve the entire center during business hours.

The above hours are also the Black Resource Center’s normal operating hours. Any reservations taking place prior to opening, or after closing, must have special arrangements.Available rooms & description:
- Conference Room
- Maximum capacity: 22 people.
- Default setup: Conference Style with seating for 22 around 6 collapsible tables.
- Alternate setups: Open Space, Classroom/Lecture
- Equipment Included:
- Large screen monitor
- Active Directory login required to access desktop and video conferencing
- Large whiteboard with Expo markers and erasers
- Podium
- Viewboard interactive display
- Large screen monitor
- Family Room: This space is the large open space that is immediately visible upon entering the center. It may be reserved only with the understanding that no privacy is possible. Our function as a Community Center calls us to keep this space open to our community; therefore no “closed” meetings are possible during normal operating hours.
- Maximum capacity: 49 people
- Default setup: Open space with movable sectional couches
- The BRC has 20 stackable chairs that can be used for additional seating as well as additional tables
How to reserve a room:
- Verify date and room availability by viewing the current reservations on our calendar.
- You may also contact us by phone, email, or at the center to verify. We encourage you to make your reservations as far in advance as possible to ensure room availability.

- Complete our Room Reservation Form
- One of our staff members will email you to confirm your reservation within 3-5 business days.
- After your reservation has been approved, the Facilities Coordinator will reach out to you to do a walkthrough for the space and provision access as needed.
Room Reservation Information:
- Food Policy: Full meals and beverages, in spill-proof containers, are allowed in the Conference Room. Snacks and beverages, in spill-proof containers, are allowed in the Family Room. In all spaces, please clean up after your meeting.
- Cleanup Policy: Rooms must be left in the same set up, clean condition as they were found. If, upon entering a room, you should discover that the space is not ready for occupancy, please notify the front desk immediately. Any necessary cleanup resulting from your event may lead to a permanent suspension of room reservation privileges of your group/organization.
- Point of Contact: All groups reserving space must provide a point of contact, who agrees to provide identification (a UCSD ID card), completes the Room Reservation Form, assumes responsibility for the group/organization holding the meeting, and agrees, on behalf of the entire group, to support the UC San Diego Black Resource Center’s mission statement by acknowledging the Agreement of Use and Liability on the eform.
