Peer Guidance Program
Peer Guidance Program (PGP)
The Peer Guidance Program (PGP) supports first-year, second-year, and transfer students as they navigate life at UC San Diego. Through personalized mentorship, community events, and access to campus resources, PGP helps you build confidence, connections, and skills for success. Whether you're brand new to UCSD or stepping into your second year, PGP offers a supportive space for you to grow and lead.
As a Peer Guidance Mentee, You’ll Receive:
-
An assigned Peer Guidance Leader (PGL) — a trained student mentor who will personally guide and support you throughout the year
-
Opportunities to learn from all PGLs through workshops, panels, and community-building events
-
Skill-building workshops on topics like academic success, leadership, and preparing for future opportunities
-
Group hangouts and social events designed to help you connect with peers and build community at UCSD
-
Weekly office hours with PGLs for drop-in support and resource referrals
-
Co-Curricular Record (CCR) credit to showcase your involvement and leadership development
Additional Support for Second-Year Mentees:
-
Matched with a PGL who has advanced leadership experience
-
Access to exclusive second-year workshops focused on leadership development, career prep, and upperclassmen readiness
-
Specialized resources to help you prepare for internships, research, and campus leadership roles
PGP is open to all first-year and second-year students, including first-year and second-year transfer students. Transfer students are encouraged to apply based on their time at UCSD — if this is your first or second year at the university, you are eligible to join!
